Beginning in 2025, Tyrian Lodge No. 333 has instituted a new award for excellence amongst the Brethren of the Lodge. Awarded annually, this award seeks to acknowledge superior contributions and excellence amongst the Brethren, recognizing one Brother who stands out and serves as an example for all others to emulate.
ELIGIBILITY
Master Mason in Good Standing
Voting Member of Tyrian Lodge No. 333
NOMINATION
The Worshipful Master shall, in consultation with the Wardens, nominate an eligible candidate.
The nomination will be made at the Annual Meeting, being the November Stated Meeting.
VOTING
The Worshipful Master shall announce the nomination and call for a vote.
All present Voting Members of Tyrian Lodge No. 333 shall vote.
A simple majority is required for the nomination to be successful.
IF a nomination should fail to achieve a simple majority, the vote shall fail, and the following shall occur:
The Senior Warden shall present a new nominee for the award, other than the original nominee, and the vote shall proceed as before
If the Senior Warden's nominee should fail, the Junior Warden shall nominate a new candidate, different than the preceding two, and the vote shall be taken.
Should the candidates nominated by each of the Worshipful Master, Senior Warden, and Junior Warden fail to achieve a simple majority, any Master Mason who is a Voting Member of Tyrian Lodge No. 333 may nominate a candidate, different than those previously offered. In the event that only one candidate is nominated, an open vote shall be taken. In the event that multiple candidates are nominated, a paper vote shall be taken. Only one vote of this type - either open or paper - may be taken for this purpose.
In the event that all nominees should fail to achieve a simple majority, the Lodge shall not award the Tyrian of the Year Award for that year.
AWARD
The award shall be presented at the Annual Installation of Officers, by the outgoing Worshipful Master (if available) or the newly installed Worshipful Master, OR:
If the recipient is not present for the Installation of Officers, it shall be presented at the next Stated Meeting in which they are in attendance.
POSTHUMOUS AWARD
The award may be granted posthumously, but it must still be awarded on the timeline specified.
