Officers of the Lodge

The Worshipful Master is the elected leader and president of a Lodge.  He is invested with considerable power, presiding over all meetings, setting the agenda, and making critical decisions.  As with great power, the office holds great responsibility.

The Senior Warden serves as principle assistant and executive officer to the Worshipful Master.  He is responsible for assisting the Worshipful Master in the conduct of the Lodge's stated and special meetings, as well as standing in his place when the Worshipful Master is otherwise unavailable.

The Junior Warden is responsible for overseeing the Lodge during it's periods of refreshment.  He is commonly called upon to schedule and coordinate meals, events, and other gatherings of the Brethren of the Lodge.  During such events, as well as stated and special meetings, if the Worshipful Master and Senior Warden are not present, it falls to the Junior Warden to preside.

The office of Secretary is responsible for many of the day to day functions of the Lodge, including summons, keeping of the meeting minutes, addressing communications, and advising the Worshipful Master on matters of procedure and jurisprudence.

The office of Treasurer is responsible for keeping the accounts of the Lodge, receiving all income, paying all bills, and forwarding annual dues to the Grand Lodge.

The Senior Deacon is responsible for greeting visitors, making them feel welcome, and introducing them about the lodge, in addition to other specific duties during stated and special meetings.

The Junior Deacon is responsible for preparing candidates before degreework, as well as other specific duties within the Lodge during stated and special meetings.
