Past Masters

Being elected to the office of Worshipful Master of the Lodge is one of the greatest respects the Brethren of the Lodge can bestow upon one of their own. The role is at once an incredible privilege, a serious obligation, and an undeniable burden for the Brother chosen to sit in the East of the Lodge.

As such, Lodges frequently show additional honors and respects to those who have assumed the office, whom we refer to as "Past Masters." Tyrian Lodge is no different.

Below, we honor all of the Past Masters of Tyrian Lodge No. 333 and Rochester Lodge No. 635. Between them, a combined history of almost three hundred years, and a tradition that dates back far longer.

NOTE: On February 22nd, 1871, the building in which Tyrian Lodge No. 333 met was damaged in a fire, resulting in the loss of nearly all records. The building also housed the Grand Lodge of A.F. & A.M. of the State of Illinois, resulting in the loss of all Grand Lodge records, as well. Due to this, all records of elected and appointed records from 1865 and 1871 are presumed lost and irretrievable.

We know the Worshipful Master as of the date that the Lodge received its charter in 1860, and it is presumed that those officers who followed in the officer line - the Senior and Junior Wardens, followed by the Senior and Junior Deacons - would have become Worshipful Masters as the line progressed.
